NATURAL PARADISE
Mallorca is full of unique natural spaces. Like the Sierra de Tramuntana, mountain range, declared a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO. Another treasure is the island of Cabrera, to the south of Mallorca, with more than 200 species of fish 450 species of plants.
Located to the north of the island, S’Albufera is the largest wetland in the Balearic Islands and has an important bird observatory. The Mondragón nature reserve, in Santanyí, or the island of Sa Dragonera, in Andratx, are other areas of pure unspoilt nature.
BEACHES
In Mallorca there are more than 300 beaches, each one of them with its charms and characteristics. From long sandy beaches that you can enjoy with your family, such as Playa de Palma, Playa de Muro or Es Trenc, to hidden coves barely visible between the cliffs, such as Es Caló des Moro, Cala Varques, Cala Pí or Cala Tuent.
The warm waters of the Mediterranean and the good climate of the island make it possible to enjoy all these beaches from April until well into October.
VILLAGES
The Serra de Tramuntana mountain range is home to some of the most picturesque and bucolic villages on the island, such as Valldemossa, Deià, Sóller, Alaró and Esporles.
Although all over Mallorca we find beautiful spots full of history and with a good commercial and cultural offer, such as Alcudia, Inca, Campos or Manacor, where you can escape from routine and find a bit of inner peace.
TRADITIONS
Mallorca is an ancestral region full of ancient traditions. Fire plays a fundamental role, reaching its zenith in the festivities of San Antonio, in January, where the streets of many villages are illuminated with offerings. Clay is another of the great traditions, and each year villages such as Marratxí show the masterpieces of their craftsmen. The festivities of the patron saint of Palma, San Sebastián, also in January, is the most popular event in the island's calendar, which is celebrated by all the inhabitants.
GASTRONOMY
The ancestral flavours of Mallorcan cuisine are still present on the local dining tables and in the cellers, typical restaurants serving Mallorcan cuisine. Some of the most characteristic recipes are the tumbet, which combines fried aubergines, red peppers, tomatoes and potatoes; the arròs brut, a rice broth that is the island's winter dish par excellence; and, of course, the pa amb oli: ramallet tomato rubbed on a slice of bread, with olive oil and salt.
SPORTS
Mallorca offers a wide range of sports activities for every taste. Starting with 26 18-hole golf courses, located less than an hour from each other. Or long cycling routes through the plains or the mountains. Sailing plays a fundamental role on the island, with options ranging from sailboats to surfboards. The gentle mountain slopes invite for pleasant hiking excursions. Other sports with good infrastructures are horse riding, climbing, tennis or hang gliding.
LEISURE & FUN
As the high-class island that it is, Mallorca offers its residents and visitors a wide variety of possibilities to enjoy their spare time. With different leading beach clubs by the sea, where you can enjoy a good meal and relax with good music. The island is home to first class concerts of big international stars. Taking long walks by the sea, through the city of Palma or through the mountains near Son Vida, is an activity that lifts the spirit and infuses it with life.
